Hyde Park Rotary Club Horseshoe Tournament
The Hyde Park Rotary Club hosted its first annual Horseshoe Tournament on Sunday August 1st. While many folks in the area were pretty busy with the big wedding in Rhinebeck, we still managed a strong turnout of 42 players. The weather was great and everyone had a terrific time throwing horseshoes, drinking beer, and feasting on a variety of foods.
The first place trophy went to the team of Scott Hawver and Butch Denis. Second place went to Wesley Waite and Daryl Waite. Third place went to Edward Burns Sr. and Edward Burns Jr.
Many thanks to our great sponsors who helped us raise over $5,000 for the Hyde Park Rotary Club. The money raised from this event will help fund a variety of local and international programs, including such things as the FDR High School Honors Society Dinner, Meals on Wheels, PolioPlus, and ShelterBox.
Rotary is about “Service Above Self” and the Hyde Park Chapter was formed in 1958 and is made up of professional and business leaders in Hyde Park.
